Samsung Adding Mobile Phone Capacity in China
July 28, 2005
According to SOHU, Samsung recently finished construction on a new mobile phone plant in Tianjin, which is Samsung's base for its telecommunications operations in China. The new plant is located in a local industrial park, where it occupies 65,000 square meters. Once the new plant will go into production, Tianjin will be Samsung's largest mobile phone production base in terms of output. In 2004 Samsung manufactured 14 million mobile phones at its Tianjin plants, with high-end phones as the main product line, selling them in the Chinese domestic market and in international markets.
